Flat Back Threadless Labret Post
NMLP-BYY
Our stud earrings are designed to fit into a flat back threadless post.
Flat back posts help create a clean look for your ear jewelry collection so it looks its best from every angle. They're also perfect for sleeping on your side with your jewelry on and the most comfortable to wear - say goodbye to butterfly backs catching onto things or poking you.
How does sizing works?
Flat back posts are measured in two ways: gauge and length. The first thing to know is your piercing gauge size. The gauge refers to the thickness of the earring post that goes through your ear. The length of your post refers to the wearable length of the earring post that goes through your piercing.
Most people wear a post that is 18g (1mm) gauge and 1/4" (6mm) or 5/16" (8mm) long for lobes and helix, but knowing your exact size will bring more comfort and long term health to your piercing.
The best way of knowing your size is by getting fitted by a professional piercer. You can also measure yourself with the help of The Complete Guide to Measuring Your Body Jewelry.
If you already have a fitted, threadless labret post in your fully healed piercing you can simply change the stud and keep your current post.
How to wear flat back posts?
With traditional earrings, you slide the piece front to back and put a butterfly backing to secure them. With flat back earrings, it’s the opposite. You put the flat back earring on from the back of your ear, sliding the post through your ear towards the front. Then you insert the front part of the earring - the decorative end - into the ear post to secure it.
Here's our guide on How Threadless Piercing Jewelry Works.
Are they body-safe?
Our posts are made of solid ASTM F-136 implant grade titanium which is long-lasting, hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin. They are also polished to a mirror finish so that there aren’t any spaces for bacteria to grow and cause infections.
Flat-back labret posts are recommended for the following piercings:
- Lobe piercing
- High lobe piercing
- Helix piercing
- Flat helix piercing
- Tragus piercing
- Conch piercing
- Nose piercing
- Lip piercings

How do I know what jewelry and post (backing) size I wear?
Like clothing, more often than not one size does not fits all when it comes to body jewelry. The most accurate way of finding your true size is to visit your local reputable piercer and have them size you properly. If you’d like to size yourself, we’ve put together The Complete Guide to Measuring Your Body Jewelry.
How do I change my jewelry?
Once your piercing is healed you’ll be ready to start changing your jewelry. All of our studs are threadless for better comfort, looks, and safety. Here's how to change your threadless jewelry. Each type of jewelry has its own way of changing so if you're looking for clickers, seam rings, or other types we’ve also put together a complete guide on How to Change Your Piercing Jewelry.
Does your jewelry have a warranty?
Yes! Most of the brands we sell have a lifetime warranty that covers defects in the materials and workmanship of their jewelry pieces. In the odd case you have an issue with a defective piece please contact Customer Service and we will be happy to help you. Please note you might be required to return the defective piece and/or send a picture for assessment, and if it is determined that the product is defective Pierced will, at its discretion, either refund your purchase or send a replacement free of charge.
How do I care for my jewelry?
Over time, debris and dirt can build up on your jewelry. We recommend making a mild soap & warm water solution and using a soft-bristled brush to clean the jewelry. If your piercing is still healing, we do not recommend removing your jewelry as you may not be able to put it back in. You can wipe away any large debris with a cotton tip applicator and your sterile saline solution.
Do you offer custom jewelry orders?
Yes! If you're looking for a very particular piece or want to see if modifications can be made to existing styles fill out this jewelry special orders form and we'll get back to you asap.
The flat back post has a much smaller base than pictured making it easy to slip through a piercing. I have previously purchased a flat back from Pierced and it was not like this... not sure what happened.
3 mails, never received any response. Has been sent the day I asked a refund. Never buy again from this store
